“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” Matthew 5:13 KJV
We are called to be salt in a decaying world. We are called to be light in the darkness. It is not our light, but His light, and it is not that we are salty, but that He is the Holy sacrifice, the Word of God in us that is that salt.
“In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.” John 1:4
It is not my desire to rub people the wrong way, but to be salt and light. I cannot do it, neither can any of us who are washed in the Blood, on our own power, or by the arm of flesh. We must walk in the Spirit, have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches and be obedient to His voice. This can only be done by placing our faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified, EXCLUSIVELY and leave it there.
Jesus said, “I AM the way, the Truth, and the Life; No man cometh unto the Father but by me.” John 14:6
We must totally accept and eat of the Lamb, the sacrifice and be washed in the Blood. Now, listen beloved to what I am saying because it is not my word, it’s not I saying this, but listen: those Jews who were in Egypt that night when the death angel went through the midst of Egypt slaying the firstborn in every house, those Jews who painted the lamb’s blood on the lintel and post of their door — they were saved from the death, the judgment that God poured out. So it is with those who are washed in the blood of the Lamb of God by faith. But any Jew who walked out of his house at the moment of judgment, would have been swept up in it. Though he were a Jew, if the blood were not sprinkled on the door, the judgment poured out on Egypt would have been poured out on him.
Why? Because he or she had stepped outside of the house that was covered in the Blood. So we must stay at the Cross, trusting in the Blood of Jesus exclusively, not just once for salvation, but keep on trusting. “Then said Jesus unto His disciples: ‘If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” Matthew 16:40
We must take up our cross daily, deny ourselves daily, surrender to Him daily, trust Him daily. This is not to become a work that we do, or repeating some mantra, but to earnestly from the heart be trusting in Him day by day. Let it be His Will and not ours. Let it be His blood and not our own machinations.
So, any man or woman, though they be in Christ (in the house) if they would walk out from under the Blood, by putting their faith in preachers, works, law or false doctrine, anything other than Jesus and Him crucified, that one might lose his reward. One can lose his saltiness by mixing in worldliness, unbelief, fear, leaven of false doctrine– all these things are sand. What happens to the salt that has lost its saltiness? Well, let’s look at Matthew 5:13 and the words of Jesus Christ: “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out, and trodden under the foot of men.”
In fact, if a Christian, even though he or she had once professed and accepted Christ, if he or she goes back to idolatry or law, commits spiritual adultery. If he or she does not repent, what happens is the conscience is seared from hearing God, from believing, from repenting. They are then reprobate concerning the faith. The more leaven a person accepts, the more marred the vessel. God hears me.
There is only one way to walk with God and that is through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. “By grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8
My dear brother or sister, if you don’t know God, you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then pray right now and ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and come into your heart. Claim Him as your Lord and Savior and He will set you free! My dear brother or sister that has already accepted Jesus, you can always turn to the Cross– IT IS THE POWER OF GOD! Turn to the Cross and Jesus will set you free. 🙂
