Psalm 46:

To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

The Lord has told me that the house that He builds shall not fall.  Are we not His, being built up together in Him?  Does God fail?  No!  He cannot lie and He cannot fail!  Trust in Him all ye saints and see the mighty works of our God!  His arm is not short that it cannot save, neither is He slack concerning judgment, but wishes that none should perish.  I was considering this aspect of our Lord.  He does not want us to perish, He does not want ANY to perish.  This should be our desire as well.  I have been guilty with hatred in my heart toward my brother, my neighbor, wishing that justice would take him, and wishing against mercy.  Then the Lord would take me back to the Cross and the two thieves:

One had revenge, doubt, hatred, and pride in his heart even though he was being crucified.  Even if the flesh is crucified, literally nailed to a tree, but the heart remains blinded to its true nature –even in the face of the Son of God being offered up right before his very eyes;  a crucifixion of sinful man does nothing!  It is only when He took our sins upon Himself, though He sinned not, taking upon Himself our guilt and being crucified in our place– only through His sacrifice are we changed, sanctified, redeemed.  The man on the other side, saw himself as he really was when confronted with the innocent Lamb of God and repented right there.  “Do you not fear God?” He pleaded with the other man.  “We deserve to be here, but this man has done nothing. Lord, when You come into Your Kingdom, will you remember me?”  (Luke 23:40-42).  He saw, but the other man did not, because he still thought that there was something wrong with his crucifixion.   “If you are the Son of God, save us, save yourself!”  He mocked the Savior right along with the Pharisees.  He did not believe.  Do you believe?

(Luk 23:43)  And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

We pass through this valley, hoping, trusting despite fears, doubts, contrary winds, opposition from man and devil, waves of destruction coming to drag us out into the deep, but He says, NO! PEACE BE STILL!  Be still and know that I am God, He says. He will deliver and heal all those who put their trust in Him.  Praise God.
